What to Expect at Open House

We know many of you have questions about Open House. Whether it’s registration, COVID-19 protocols, or day-of logistics, we have you covered.

Before Open House

First off, if you haven’t done so yet, please register here as soon as possible. Once you register and pay, brass and percussion attendees will receive their audition packets as well as rehearsal music.

On Saturday, October 10, all registrants will receive instructions to complete a COVID-19 health screening. This must be completed prior to your arrival at open house.

What to Bring

  • Food and drinks for lunch (you will not be allowed to leave for lunch)
  • Plenty of water to last the whole day
  • Music stand and binder with music in it (we recommend using sheet protectors or clothespins to ensure music stays in place)
  • Clothes for any weather (be prepared to move)
  • Sneakers
  • Masks

What We’ll Provide

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Bell covers and black towels
  • Porta-johns will be available on site
  • Instruments & equipment rentals

Schedule for the Day

  1. Go thru the security gate – someone will direct you to tent
  2. Park your car in parking lot on the left and go to the COVID-19 testing tent in front of athletic center 
  3. Once you get cleared, you will be instructed to go back in your car and park by where your section will rehearse
  4. Brass check in at table and  go to truck to sign out an instrument

9:00am-9:20am Percussion/Pit 

9:20am-9:40am Brass 

9:40am-10:00am Color Guard 

Rehearsal starts at 10:00am

Lunch 

12:30pm Percussion/Pit

1:00pm Brass 

1:30pm Color Guard

4:00pm Dismissal

Please Stay Home If Experiencing…

  • Temperature 100.4F or above
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills – repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain 
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea 
  • Known close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19
  • Or have travelled in the past 14 days to/from a Travel Advisory State

Additional Safety Protocols

  • Fill out your online COVID-19 form SATURDAY NIGHT
  • ALWAYS where your mask unless you are actually playing your horn
  • SOCIAL DISTANCE ALWAYS – Maintain a minimum of 6 feet apart!  Brass players will be spaced out 12 feet apart while playing
  • Once you are in the stadium you can NOT leave, bring your own food and water
