Kim Roman Appointed as the New Head Drum Major for the Hawthorne Caballeros
From 1954-2017 (head drum majors from 1946-53 are unavailable at the time of this post), there have only been 9 head drum majors for the Hawthorne Caballeros:
- Art Kutz
- Ralph Silverbrand
- Chuck Bishop
- Jim Russo
- Mike Durborow
- Russ Batsch
- Glenn Stevens
- Addison Shableski
- Joshua Jenkins
For 2018, the Hawthorne Caballeros made some history by selecting their first-ever female head drum major, Kim Roman.
Kim is entering her 5th year with the Caballeros. Her first two years were on trumpet, while years three and four were as an assistant drum major. Prior to joining the Caballeros, Kim spent six years with the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps (2009-2014).
Outside of the drum corps activity, Kim is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education/Music. She currently teaches kindergarten in Paterson, NJ.
The Caballeros would like to thank Joshua Jenkins for his service as head drum major for the 2017 season and look forward to announcing his new position with the Caballeros soon!
