Cliff Bialkin
Program Coordinator & Co-Brass Arranger
Mr. Bialkin retired in 2020 after serving as the Director of Bands at Ramsey High School in NJ for 32 years. During his tenure, he led numerous award-winning ensembles, including the jazz band, marching band, wind ensemble, and pit orchestra. His groups had the opportunity to travel extensively, performing in parades and concerts across Europe, including in London, France, and Italy. After retiring, he founded Clifford Bialkin Designs LLC, a company specializing in custom music arrangements, drill design, and performance coaching for marching arts ensembles across the United States. The company also offers soundtrack creation, live audio production, custom mixing, and audio engineering for musical theatre. Mr. Bialkin is a respected music arranger for both band and drum corps, including the world-famous Hawthorne Caballeros. He is a freelance trombonist in the New York metro area and has a studio of students, where he shares his expertise in brass performance. Mr. Bialkin is also a frequent clinician and adjudicator, offering his insights to ensembles both domestically and internationally. He and his wife, Sabrina, also an teacher, live in Ramsey, NJ, where they share a deep passion for educating students, as well as a love for music and the arts.

Trevor Stojanovich
Visual Designer
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trevor Stojanovich is a dedicated drill designer, choreographer, adjudicator, and Visual Caption Head based in Round Rock, Texas. Before Trevor stepped into his current role as a full time designer, he was a band director at Silverado High School and Manor High School. Trevor holds his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
In the drum corps arena, Trevor played mellophone for Gold Drum & Bugle Corps (2012-2013), The Academy (2014-2015), and the Blue Devils (2016-2017), where he aged out as a Drum Corps International World Champion. Following this, he has been a Visual Instructor for the Sacramento Mandarins, Gold Drum & Bugle Corps, and Pacific Crest. Currently, Trevor serves as Visual Caption Head for the Blue Knights, a role he has maintained since 2024. In the indoor activity, Trevor was a member of the cymbal line at Vegas Vanguard (2015) and Vessel Indoor Percussion (2019). After aging out, he founded and directed sage V Percussion for the 2020 and 2021 seasons in Las Vegas. Recently, Trevor served as a Visual Instructor for Rhythmic Force Percussion for the 2025 season, and will be joining the staff at POW Percussion for 2026.
Trevor’s clients in choreography and marching band drill design have achieved significant success, including appearances at UIL 6A Area and State contests, Bands of America regional finals, and numerous class awards and state medals across the country. Additionally, his indoor percussion and winter guard clients have earned gold medals at circuit championships, competed in WGI regionals, and have been World Championships finalists. Trevor is looking forward to returning for another season with the Hawthorne Caballeros!

Matt Blood
Music Coordinator & Front Ensemble Arranger
Matt Blood is a marching arts designer, educator, and consultant based out of Southern New Jersey. He has worked with many marching bands, indoor percussion ensembles, and drum corps around the country as the sole proprietor of mattbloodmusic.com and as an arranger for Clifford Bialkin Designs LLC. Matt has designed shows for and taught programs who have performed at Drum Corps International semifinals, Winter Guard International PIW and PIO finals, and Bands of America Grand Nationals.
In the past, Matt has held the positions of Front Ensemble Arranger for the Jersey Surf from 2019 to 2023, Front Ensemble Arranger/Sound Designer for United Percussion 2 in 2022 and 2023, and taught the front ensemble at United Percussion World from 2019 to 2023, where he was the coordinator in 2021 and caption head in 2022 and 2023. Currently, Matt holds the positions of Front Ensemble Caption Head/Arranger/Sound Designer for the Hawthorne Caballeros, Front Ensemble Caption Head/Sound Designer/Staff Arranger for the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights, and Front Ensemble Manager/Arranger/Sound Designer for the Imperial Dynasty Indoor Percussion Program.
Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in classical percussion performance from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where he learned from Joe Tompkins, Kyle Zerna, Mike Truesdell, and Javier Diaz. In addition, Matt has performed as a member of the United Percussion Front Ensemble during their 2012-2014 seasons, where he was fortunate enough to work with many amazing educators, including Steve Ballard, Ian Hale, and Rich Klimowicz.

Matt Penland
Percussion Arranger
Matt Penland is a percussion performer, educator, and arranger based out of Washington, D.C. where he is a percussionist in the U.S. Air Force Band. Matt is currently a percussion arranger for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as well as several high school groups across the country. He spent the last several years as an instructor and lesson teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, VA.
Displaying a comprehensive background in both classical and marching percussion, Matt's performance accolades include: 3rd Prizewinner of the TROMP International Percussion Competition, Top Prizewinner of the Atlanta Modern Snare Drum Competition, DCI Individual and Ensemble Tenor Champion and PASIC Collegiate Tenor Solo Champion. He was also included alongside Jake Harpster on the album Nightflower, by Elliot Cole, released in 2019.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music Performance degree from Northwestern University. His teachers included She-e Wu, Christopher Lamb, Vadim Karpinos, James Ross, Paul Rennick, Christopher Deane, and Mark Ford.

Jeffrey Chambers

Born in Issaquah, Washington in 1990, Jeff Chambers grew up in eastern Washington and now composes and arranges music that is played and heard around the world. He is the owner and lead winds and percussion arranger for Jeff Chambers Music LLC. In the world of pageantry, Jeff has composed and arranged over 200 new marching band shows and has received national recognition as a prominent marching arts designer. His shows have competed at all levels of BOA, USBands, Tournament of Bands, Cavalcade of Bands and Texas UIL. This year 280 marching bands across the country performed his music, 15 of which performed brand new commissions. He currently serves as brass arranger for the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps, co-brass arranger for the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps and co-music arranger for the Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps. He has arranged for the Phoenix Drum and Bugle Corps and the Eruption Indoor Percussion Ensemble in previous years. He also composes and arranges indoor winds and indoor percussion shows for multiple scholastic and independent programs across the country, including ensembles that compete in Dayton, Ohio at the WGI World Championships. Jeff currently lives in Puyallup, Washington with his wife Karissa, daughter Oakley, son Ryker and their two spoiled pups.

Matt Hurley will be returning to the Caballeros in a new role of Artistic Coordinator. This will be Matt’s 1s year in this role after serving in multiple roles for the previous 10 years with the Hawthorne Caballeros.
Matt also has been very active in the indoor color guard world. He has performed with the Bayonne Kidets, Conquest Color Guard, and The Emerald Marquis. He is currently the Program Coordinator for the AMP Indoor Color Guard Organization. Prior to his Role at AMP, he was also the operations manager with The Black Watch Independent World color guard for 12 years.
Matt has designed and instructed many NJ/PA high school marching bands throughout the years. According to Matt, “Way too many to list them all!”

Mark is a NJ based musician and educator currently holding the middle school band director position at Eisenhower Middle School in Roxbury NJ as well as percussion specialist for the district. As a graduate of Rutgers University, he holds degrees in both music education (percussion focus) and psychology. Having worked with various scholastic percussion ensembles in New Jersey, Mark has also worked with various independent musical organizations such as The Santa Clara Vanguard (battery technician) and The Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps (percussion/music coordinator). He has also worked with his alma mater, the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights, since 2016. Mark would like to thank his teachers for their immeasurable impact on his musical career as well as for their selflessness and energy: Joseph Tompkins, Kyle Zerna, Mike Truesdell, Javier Diaz, Todd Nichols, Paul/Sandi Rennick and Kevin Chaffinch.

Joshua (JJ) Jenkins is the Director of Bands at Ramsey High School in Ramsey, New Jersey; a position he has held since 2020. His responsibilities at Ramsey High School include directing the Ramsey High School Wind Ensemble, the Ramsey "Big Blue" Band and Guard marching band, and teaching instrumental lessons for grades 9-12. Previously, he was the assistant band director in the Vernon Township school district in Vernon, NJ and the band director at Brooklawn Middle School in Parsippany, NJ. JJ has a Bachelors in Music Education from Ithaca College where he studied French horn with Professor Alexander Shuhan. Currently, he is pursuing his Masters degree at Montclair State University in Wind Conducting where he studies with Dr. Thomas McCauley.
JJ attributes much of his musical success to the marching arts. He has been the mellophone technician at the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps from Sacramento, California since 2022 and was the Brass Caption Head of the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps from Hawthorne, New Jersey from 2019-2025. He was a member of the Caballeros from 2008-2012 and then went on to perform with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2013 and 2014. After aging out, JJ returned to the Caballeros as drum major, Mello tech, and eventually brass caption head.
JJ’s professional affiliations include the MEBCI (Music Educators of Bergen County Inc.), the New Jersey Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education. He is an active performer and has performed with the New Jersey Wind Symphony and is currently a member of the Sussex County Brass Quintet. JJ currently resides in Fair Lawn, NJ and loves being an uncle to his niece and nephew Graeme and Elanor.

Anthony Paterno is currently the Assistant Director of Bands at West Milford High School. His responsibilities include assistant directing the marching band, conducting the Symphonic Band, and teaching brass lessons for grades 7-12. Anthony recently graduated from Rutgers University where he studied trumpet with Professor Kenny Decarlo and conducting with Dr. Julia Baumanis and Dr. Todd Nichols. He completed his student teaching with Mr. Jeffery Conrad and Mr. Ryan Sweer at Roxbury High School and Eisenhower Middle School.
Anthony began his drum corps career with the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019 and 2020. He went on to march with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from 2021-2024. During his time in Crown, the brass section was awarded the Jim Ott Memorial Award for Best Brass. He attributes much of his teaching style and musical ability to Josh Jenkins and Matt Harloff, his brass caption heads.
Anthony has been teaching marching band since 2020 at various programs, including Wayne Hills High School, Parsippany Hills High School, Ramsey High School, and Roxbury High School. During the winter of the 2024 season, he was a part of the Caballeros Brass Staff as an intern. He is excited for this opportunity and is looking forward to a great season.

Michael Castellano
Visual Caption Head
Michael Castellano is a performer and educator from Long Island, New York. Michael is the associate band director of The Brentwood Green Machine Marching Band, as well as a first through third grade general music teacher in the Brentwood District. After graduating from Lindenhurst High School, Michael moved to upstate New York to pursue a degree in Music Education at SUNY Fredonia, while studying trumpet with David Duro and John Maguda. During his time at Fredonia, Michael performed with various ensembles including The Fredonia Symphony Orchestra, Fredonia Chamber Orchestra, Fredonia Wind Ensemble, and Fredonia New Jazz Ensemble. Michael Currently performs with the Funk Group, “Funk Island Sound”.
Michael’s drum corps experience started in 2014, when he marched lead trumpet with the Long Island Sunrisers for the 2014 and 2015 season. In 2016-2018, Michael marched trumpet with the Canton Bluecoats, where he was a lead trumpet and was a soloist for the 2017 and 2018 season. After his ageout season, Michael went on to teach choreography and visual with the Jersey Surf in 2019, trumpet with the Connecticut Hurricanes in 2020 and 2021, and trumpet with the Hawthorne Caballeros in 2022 and 2023. Michael was named the High Brass Coordinator for the Caballeros in 2024, a role he would continue in 2025. Michael is very excited to be the Visual Caption Head of the Hawthorne Caballeros for the 2026 season.

Michelle is excited to return to the Hawthorne Caballeros as the Color Guard Caption Head for the 2025 season.
Michelle has over 25 years of experience in the marching arts. She has marched with several color guards, marching bands, and drum corps including IUP, Steel City Ambassadors, and the Reading Buccaneers.
She has taught several HS Marching Band and Color Guard programs in the PA/DE area and previously worked with the Raiders and Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. From 2014-2018 she was a member of the color guard staff and later the visual coordinator for the Caballeros.
She is currently the color guard caption head and visual coordinator for the Avon Grove HS Marching Band and director of the Avon Grove Indoor Color Guard program.
She is excited to return home to the Caballeros in a new role after a short “retirement” from drum corps. Michelle resides in Chester County, PA and is an elementary school STEM instructor.

Kirby is a percussion educator and arranger based in New Jersey. He started his marching career at Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He then went on to march quads with the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps (2012-2013) and Fusion “Core” (2015). Kirby aged out with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2016 and marched with United Percussion (2014-2017), aging out as battery captain.
Kirby has taught and arranged for numerous high schools in New Jersey, but he is currently the percussion director/arranger at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. He was a quad technician at the Hawthorne Caballeros (2017-2019) and then assumed the role of battery coordinator (2020-Present). He is excited to continue the Hawthorne Caballeros’ tradition of excellence!

Zach Brenna is a percussion educator & arranger based out of Long Island, New York. Zach’s marching arts experience started with Lindenhurst High School, his hometown.
As his first venture into drum corps, Zach spent 4 summers with the Long Island Sunrisers (2014-2017) playing bass drum and snare drum. Following this, he marched with the Hawthorne Caballeros (2018/2019) where he served as section leader, and The Cadets (2020/2021) both on snare drum.
Zach’s teaching & arranging experience includes the Hawthorne Caballeros (2021-present), Brentwood HS (NY), Lindenhurst HS (2018-2024), Musselman HS (WV) and many other band programs.
Zach is fortunate to have studied under and would like to thank: Jacob Gall, Tom Aungst, Mike Rabinowitz & Kevin Murphy.
Currently, Zach works at Chase Bank as an Associate Banker, and looks forward to spending his 8th year with the Caballeros organization!

Quamel is excited to be returning to the drum corps for his 12th season overall and his 5th season on the visual staff!
With 10 years of visual instruction experience, Quamel has worked with programs such as The Spirit of Stony Brook at Stony Brook University, Avon Grove HS, Springfield HS (AR), Jonesboro HS (AR), Springford Indoor Drumline, and most prominently with The Marple Newtown Tiger Marching Band and their indoor drumline and colorguard ensembles. His experience with these groups has made him proficient in teaching marching and movement fundamentals, choreography, staging, and leading efficient ensemble rehearsals.
He’s thrilled to be back with the organization and looks forward to helping members achieve visual excellence this season!

Christopher Rusca joins the Hawthorne Caballeros as the High Brass Coordinator. Chris was the Director of Bands at Passaic High School from 2002-2023 and has been the Director of Bands at Wayne Valley High School since 2023 where he currently directs the Marching, Symphonic and Jazz Bands.
After graduating from Burlington City HS, Chris went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Music Education from William Paterson University of NJ. His marching experience includes Hawthorne Caballeros (1994/2006) and Sunrisers (1999) and drum corps teaching experience with the Fusion Core as the Brass Caption Head (2020). Chris is looking forward to this new opportunity and challenge. He would like to thank all of his past and current students and staff who without their tireless hard work and dedication this opportunity wouldn’t have been possible.

Starlyn Lopez is NJ based trombonist and educator. He is currently the winds coordinator and assistant jazz band band director at Somerville High School, prior to this he was the assistant band director at Perth Amboy High School. He is excited to be back for his third year with the Caballeros brass in a new role.
Starlyn studied trombone performance at NJCU under Dr. Michael Christianson, Dr, Gilles Bernard and Dr. Keith Green. During his time at NJCU he performed with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Orchestra as well as various other smaller ensembles. Since graduation, Starlyn has gone on to perform the national anthem at Yankee stadium and has played live on La mega 97.9fm. He has performed all over the US with some of the biggest names in Latin music and you can find him equally comfortable in a symphonic ensemble, jazz band, musical pit or nightclub hit. Starlyn credits his mom for his anything is possible attitude and when not performing or teaching, you can find him with a cup of coffee and a book.

Tricia is a percussion educator based in New Jersey. Her experience in the marching arts began at West Essex High School. Afterwards, Tricia attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology where she received her bachelor's in Information Technology. During her studies, she began her first drum corps season with the Hawthorne Caballeros.
She was a member of the Caballeros from 2018 to 2022 performing on vibraphone and marimba. Her teaching experience includes Fort Lee HS, West Morris Mendham HS, New Milford HS, and Madison HS.
Currently, Tricia works as a Software Engineer for Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ. She is excited to teach with the Caballeros!

Joshua “Wally” Wallowitch is excited and eager to join the color guard staff for the 2024 season with the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps. Wally started his marching career as a saxophone player in West Deptford High school (2006-2010). He began color guard journey with Commotion winter guard (2010-2013) and his first world class experience with Jersey Surf (2010-2012). He studied music education at West Chester University and participated as a member of the Golden Ram Marching Band (2013-2015) serving as one of the color guard captains in 2015. Wally finished his junior corps career by aging out with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-2014) and began competing in WGI world class with Field of View winter guard (2014-2017). His most recent marching experiences were with AMP winter guard (2018-2020) and is a proud alumnus of the Caballeros color guard (2019-2022). Wally is thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to the Caballeros as an instructor and continue the tradition of excellence that the Cabs Guard is known for.

Caitlyn is an active music educator and trumpet player from Broad Brook, Connecticut. Caitlyn is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and holds a B.S. in Music Education and a B.A. in Music, and will receive a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction in Music Education in May 2025. Caitlyn is very excited to return to the Caballeros team for the 2026 season.
Caitlyn began her marching career with the University of Connecticut Marching Band in 2020, where she served as trumpet section leader for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. She then went on to march lead trumpet with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle corps in 2023 and 2024, where she was the flugelhorn soloist for their 2023 production Sinnerman and trumpet section leader for the 2024 production Vieux Carré.
Caitlyn is currently a Visual and Brass instructor with the Orville H. Platt High School Marching Band and a Brass Instructor for 7th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as assisting with several music organizations around the state of Connecticut.

Meghan Correll is the Director of Bands at Emerson Junior-Senior High School. She is the head director of the marching band, two concert bands, and two jazz bands for all 7th-12th grade students. They also teach general music and pull-out lessons for all woodwind, brass, and percussion students.
An alumna of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Meghan graduated in 2023 with a degree in Music Education and Clarinet Performance. She was the senior class representative for the Rutgers branch of the National Association for Music Education, and was selected as the student speaker at the 2023 MGSA graduation ceremony. Meghan marched with the Rutgers Marching Scarlet Knights for five years, where they served as a clarinet drill advisor, and then mellophone section leader, where they performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. She went on to march her ageout year on mellophone for the 2023 Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
Meghan has taught marching band as a woodwind specialist, brass specialist, and visual designer and technician for bands all over New Jersey, including Cherokee High School, Collingswood High School, Northern Burlington County Regional High School, and North Plainfield High School. Last season, she was invited back to Rutgers as the mellophone technician and traveled with the band to represent Rutgers in London Band Week. They are also entering their second season as a visual technician for River City Winds. Meghan is looking forward to a great season with the Caballeros mellophone section.

Justin Lordi is a trombonist from Branchburg NJ, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Ithaca College in May 2023. Justin is currently the middle school band director at Pioneer Academy in Wayne NJ, and a very energetic and passionate lover of the marching arts. In the past, he has marched 4 years on baritone with the Immaculata Spartan Marching Band, and additionally with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2020, 2021, and 2023 seasons. Justin is really looking forward to sharing his in-depth background on brass and music theory with the Caballeros this season, and cannot wait to get started!

John Blackstone-Gardner is a euphonium/low brass performer from San Diego, CA. In May of 2024 he received a Bachelors of Arts in Music and a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from the University of Connecticut and is currently pursuing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the same University.
After marching Euphonium with Gold DBC(‘21) and The Cadets(‘22, ‘23), and three years with the UConn Marching Band on Baritone, John has had the joy of working with a variety of different ensembles. He currently serves as a Director Intern with UCONN Athletic Bands where he instructed and helped with organizing the Marching Band in the Fall. Now he is one of the directors of the Pep Bands following the Basketball and Hockey teams. In addition, he has been a part of the Visual Staff and helped with the low brass section at Southington High School working with both their Marching Band(‘23, ‘24) and their Winter Percussion program(‘24).
Outside of music, John lives in Tolland CT where he spends his free time reading, building legos, and playing video games. He especially enjoys all things Sci-Fi/Fanstasy and loves Lord of The Rings. He is super excited to bring his passion and love for music to the Caballeros this season and is ready to get some work done!

Matthew J. Paterno received his Bachelor of Music degree from Rutgers University-Mason Gross School of Arts in 1989. He studied conducting there with Scott Whitener and euphonium with Harold Janks of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. In 2014, Matt earned his Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton.
Mr. Paterno is the current music director of the Hanover Wind Symphony, an adult musical organization from Northern New Jersey. In this position, he has commissioned many new works for wind band and hosted world class soloists such as Stanley Drucker, Steven Mead and Michael Baker. The Hanover Wind Symphony performs 5-6 concerts a year with repertoire drawing from major band works, new music for wind ensemble, patriotic selections and holiday favorites.
Mr. Paterno recently retired from public education after 36 years of service. He began his teaching career as the fourth grade Music Teacher and High School Band Director for the Keansburg Public Schools and spent the last 35years as The Director of Bands and Instrumental Music at Wayne Hills High School. He continues to teach as an adjunct faculty member at William Paterson University where he instructs classes in Brass Methods, Understanding Music, Ear Training and Applied Euphonium. In addition, Mr. Paterno serves as a mentor for student teacher candidates. In the past, he worked with the William Paterson Summer Concert Band, and the Mt. Tabor Summer Band School. He also founded, organized and was the lead instructor for the Wayne Sounds of Summer music camp for 11 years.
Throughout his career, bands under Mr. Paterno’s baton have consistently received excellent and superior ratings in contests and festivals. He has had the distinction of having the Wayne Hills Wind Ensemble chosen to perform in Avery Fisher Hall in New York! He has also conducted several honors bands, including the following: North Jersey Area Symphonic Band, NJ Region I Junior High Jazz Band, NJ Region I Brass Ensemble, Bloomfield Youth Band, Future Musicians Incorporated All State Band, Millennium All State Band, Partesi Music Diocesan Band, Atlantic/Cape May Honors Band and The CJMEA Junior High Symphonic Band. Mr. Paterno is in demand as a clinician and brass teacher, as well as an adjudicator with the National Judges Association. Mr. Paterno was also the creator and coordinator of the NJMEA State Marching Band Festival and served for ten years as the chairman of the NJMEA State Conference Marching Band Academy.
Mr. Paterno is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is a two-time recipient of the Governor’s Teacher of the Year Award for Wayne Township. He was awarded the Eastern Marching Band Association’s Director of the Year award and was honored by School Band and Orchestra as the New Jersey representative of their “50 Directors Who Make a Difference” list.

Sean Ferguson is excited to return for his third year with the Caballeros. He currently serves as the Director of Band at Somerville High School, New Jersey, where he directs two concert bands, three jazz ensembles, the marching band,and indoor percussion ensemble. Additionally, he teaches music technology and AP music theory courses. After school, Sean advises the Asian Student Association and Spectrum Alliance (LGBTQ+ advocacy club).
After aging out of Phantom Regiment in 2015, Sean has served as an instructor, designer, and consultant for several marching arts groups in and around the northeast. Sean currently serves as the brass arranger for the 7th Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.

Harry is a percussion educator based out of North Jersey. He started his marching career at Madison HS, going on to march United Percussion 2 (2020, 2024) and aging out with United Percussion (2025). He has also marched in the Hawthorne Caballeros quadline, “Latin Quads” (2020 - 2024), earning a DCA world title and two High Percussion awards. He is proud to return to the program that gave him so much and can’t wait to be a part of the season. He is eternally grateful for the educators that have shaped his career in the activity.
Aside from marching, Harry has taught at his alma mater Madison HS, and currently serves on the percussion staff at Bridgewater-Raritan HS, with experience competing in NJMBDA, TOB, USBands, and BoA. Outside of band, Harry works as an embedded software engineer at a medical devices startup in Princeton, NJ and is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Engineering.

Matt is a percussion educator from Southern New Jersey. He was first exposed to the marching arts during his time at Barnegat High School, and then went on to march drum corps with the Raiders (2016-2018) and the Hawthorne Caballeros (2019-2021). Additionally, he participated in WGI with East Coast Percussion (2017-2018), United Percussion 2 (2019), and United Percussion (2021-2022). Furthermore, Matt is currently the percussion caption head and battery arranger at Madison High School, and was previously a quad tech with 7th Regiment and UP2. Matt is excited to return to the Caballeros as part of the instructional staff, and looks forward to being a part of the group’s 80th year of excellence.

Ryan also spent three years in the Rutgers University Drumline and served as bass drum section leader for his last two years.

Tristan’s marching career started in 2016 with Fusion Drum Corps. He went on to perform with The Caballeros in 2018 and 2021 as well as Crossmen in 2019 and Santa Clara Vanguard in 2021. In 2018, he marched with East Coast Percussion and spent 2 years performing with United Percussion World (2021, 2022). Tristan also spent three years in the Rutgers University Drumline from 2017 to 2020.
Tristan has taught multiple high school percussion programs in New Jersey and is currently the Assistant Band Director for Ramsey High School’s Marching Band. During the summer, Tristan is a battery instructor for The Hawthorne Caballeros. Tristan is excited to start his 7th year with the Caballeros in 2026!

Nick’s involvement in the broader marching percussion world started in 2019 as a member of the West Chester University Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band Bass Line (2019-2022). During that time, Nick ventured into the independent scene, marching with Imperial Dynasty during the 2020 WGI season. After a brief hiatus from independent percussion, he furthered his passion for marching bass drum as a member of United Percussion, where he played bass 1 in both the 2023 and 2024 season. In addition to marching, Nick has taught at various high schools in the Southeastern PA area and is currently the battery caption head at Downingtown West High School.

Hannah D’Elia is a percussionist and music educator from New Jersey. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in P-12 Music Education with a primary in classical percussion and a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching at Montclair State University.
Hannah’s musical career began at the age of 5, when she began studying under Grammy- award winning drummer, Donald Guilluame. She has been playing the drumset for 16 years and has most notably performed in Times Square, New York for a television show named “Wonderama” in 2021. Hannah has also marched bass drum with the DCA/DCI-All Age Hawthorne Caballeros from 2022-2024, WGI United Percussion World in 2023, and the DCI Casper Troopers in 2025.
Hannah works with several high school drum lines including Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School, Butler High School, Hunterdon Central Regional High School, and Ramsay High School.
Hannah is very excited to give back to the marching arts community and is eternally grateful to all of the musicians and teachers that have helped shape her to be the person and musician she is today!

Brian Horn is a marching percussion educator from Somerset, NJ. His marching percussion career started 15 years ago at Immaculata High School in Somerville, NJ. Brian’s first experience with an independent group was playing snare drum as a member of the Bushwackers (2010). Following the DCA experience, Brian then marched 2 seasons, including his age-out season, at United Percussion (snare drum 2011, 2012).
Brian has been the caption head at Westfield High School (US Bands), since 2012. Brian also has WGI, DCA, and DCI teaching experience, with East Coast Percussion (2018), with United Percussion A (2019), The Hawthorne Caballeros (2018,2019) and most recently with the Jersey Surf (2019)

Carlos is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, where he double-majored in Music Education and Psychology and is currently working on his master’s degree in percussion performance at Rutgers. Carlos has been a percussion educator in New Jersey for over 10 years teaching several high schools, private lessons, clinics, and the Rutgers University Drum Line. He is an active freelance musician in the New York and New Jersey area, specializing in classical and Latin percussion. He has played on the national tour of Hair the musical and currently plays snare drum for the NY Giants Drum Line as an employee of Blue Devils Entertainment. He has had the honor to play alongside musicians such as Eddie Palmieri and Delfeayo Marsalis and has recorded with the Wu-Tang Clan. This will be Carlos’ 10th season with the Caballeros Drum and Bugle corps.

Chris Parr is a New Jersey-based musician, educator, and composer currently serving as a music arranger and battery coordinator at West Milford High School, as well as a jazz band clinician for multiple schools, including Wayne Valley High School, Pequannock Township High School, and West Milford High School. In addition to these roles Chris teaches general music, sharing his passion for music with students of all ages and abilities. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Education in Jazz Studies at William Paterson University.
Having worked with various music programs in New Jersey, Chris has also contributed to independent organizations such as the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps, where he served as center snare and section leader earning awards such as the Drum Corps Associates World Championship in 2021 and the William McGrath Sr. Memorial Trophy for High Percussion in 2022.

Alex Morris is an active performer and educator from Exton, Pennsylvania. They spent their years following high school at West Chester University, studying trumpet under professors Rob Skoniczin and Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski. During their time at West Chester University, Alex performed with many of the university’s ensembles. Most notably, the WCU Wind Ensemble, the Criterions, the WCU Brass Ensemble, and the WCU Orchestra. They also have a variety of chamber and solo playing experience, having recorded multiple small ensemble and solo works, as well as giving two solo recitals.
In the realm of marching arts, Alex has performed with multiple world class organizations on trumpet, and in colorguards. Such organizations include Amp Winterguard (2022-2024), the Sacramento Mandarins (2022), the Bluecoats colorguard (2023), the Bluecoats hornline (2024) and Fusion Winterguard (2025-present). Prior to this, Alex marched with the Hawthorne Caballeros from 2017-2021 on trumpet. They have instructed a variety of high schools in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area, having a mainstay as a color guard instructor at Bayard-Rustin High School. As well as being a trumpet technician and movement/visual instructor for the Hawthorne Caballeros in 2025.

Andrew Denburg is originally from West Orange, New Jersey and is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He started his drum corps career playing mellophone with the Raiders before joining the Cadets from 2011-2013. As a marching band instructor, Andrew has worked with groups all over New Jersey for the last 15 years including Old Bridge, West Orange, Verona, Nutley, and most recently Roxbury where he has won the best visual award for Class AA in the NJMBDA circuit since its inception in 2021. He also taught 7th Regiment from 2015-2018 before joining the brass staff at the Jersey Surf from 2019-2022. Andrew returned to the Cadets as a visual staff member in 2023 and then spent the 2025 season with the Hawthorne Caballeros. Andrew is currently the Director of Bands at Pathways Middle School in New Brunswick, New Jersey as well as an instructor for the Rowan University Marching Band and the Carmel Marching Greyhounds. He is very excited to be returning to the Caballeros for the 2026 season!

Chris is a musician and blue collar worker based out of Long Island, NY. Chris began his marching career with the Lindenhurst High School Marching Band, performing with the band for 3 years. He then went on to join the Long Island Sunrisers for their 2015 production, completing his first drum corps season. From 2016 to 2018, he marched with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, helping the corps capture its first ever DCI World Championship in 2016! In 2019, he traveled to Hong Kong to perform in the Lunar New Year Parade, representing the Bluecoats on an international stage. He’s even performed at New York Comic Con alongside the cast of Steven Universe!
Now in his sixth year of teaching visual, Chris has shared his passion for the marching arts with the students at Floral Park High School (Floral Park, NY), Ravenwood High School (Brentwood, TN), and Ramsey High School (Ramsey, NJ).
He is excited to be spending his first season on a drum corps instructional staff with the Caballeros!

Crissy is an NJ educator and Hawthorne resident. She began her marching career at Midland Park High School in 2010 as a member of the color guard due to her background in dance. She began her drum corps career in 2015 by playing mellophone with Fusion Core for 2 seasons before joining the Oregon Crusaders in 2017 as their mellophone soloist. Crissy returned to drum corps in 2022 with the Hawthorne Caballeros and continued in 2024 and 2025, serving as mellophone section leader in her last season and being named Brass Member of the Year. Crissy is also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she was a 4-year member of the Pitt Band and became the first female drum major in the band’s 108 year history.
Crissy has taught many high school marching bands in the Northern NJ area including Ramapo HS, Fort Lee HS, Indian Hills HS, and Teaneck HS. She currently is on staff with Ramsey HS and Northern Valley Old Tappan, and is one of the assistant directors of the Midland Park HS Marching Band. Off the field, Crissy is a social studies teacher at Ramapo Ridge Middle School in Mahwah, NJ.

Connor is a recent age-out of the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. He served as head drum major for the 2025 season and marched tuba with The Line from 2022-2024. Outside of Drum Corps, Connor is a fourth year at West Chester University studying Music Education and Instrumental Performance on Tuba. There he works closely with the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band as a Student Coordinator designing visuals and running rehearsal blocks. At West Chester, Connor is the principal tubist of the Wind Ensemble, and plays 3rd Trombone with the Criterions Jazz Ensemble. Outside of music, Connor enjoys going to the gym and playing video games.
Connor got his start with Fusion Core from 2019-2021. During those years, his mother was assistant Drum Major and got to show him the ropes of this activity. In 2023 the Blue Devils named Connor the recipient of “The Rock” Award. This is given to a member who is highly valuable and dependable to those around him. In 2024 he received the award again as well as Brass Veteran of the Year. This summer alongside working with the Caballeros, Connor will be Drum Major of the 2026 Blue Devils International Corps. He is incredibly excited to work with the Caballeros and give back to the All-Age community that got him started back in 2019.

Based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Mike is a passionate and experienced educator in the marching arts.
He started his Drum Corps career marching with Cadet2 Drum and Bugle Corps from 2014 to 2016, then marched with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017.
Throughout his teaching career, Mike has contributed to several respected programs, including the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band at West Chester University, Upper Darby High School, and the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps. He currently serves as the Visual Caption Head for the Great Valley High School Marching Patriots, where he leads the visual program. Across all of these roles, Mike has focused on choreography, teaching marching fundamentals, and running effective visual ensemble rehearsals.
This will be Mike’s second year on staff with the Hawthorne Caballeros, and he is thrilled to return as a member of the visual team. He looks forward to continuing to support the performers as they pursue their goals and contribute to another exciting and successful season with the Drum corps.

Nicole Diamond has been involved in teaching the marching arts since 2015. Nicole is currently on the visual staff with the Troopers and the Hawthorne Caballeros. Additionally, Nicole is a staff member with Silent Command, an educational consulting service for programs in the marching arts.
Nicole was previously a visual instructor for the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps from 2021 to 2023. Nicole has also taught numerous ensembles in south Florida as a visual instructor, including Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Park Vista High School,STRYKE Wynds, and other local groups. She served as Visual Caption Head for Coral Springs High School during their 2018 season, and consulted for other distinguished programs in south Florida including Jupiter High School, Flanagan High School, and West Broward High School.
As a performer, Nicole marched baritone in 2015 with the Troopers and continued on as a euphonium player in the Bluecoats from 2016 to 2018. During her age-out season, Nicole served as a brass section leader at the Bluecoats. She began her WGI career as Captain for STRYKE Wynds throughout their inaugural year in 2015, and continued as Captain through the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
A native of south Florida, Nicole currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband, Jake. Nicole is a nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she is also involved in professional development and education initiatives.

Noreen LaNasa is a seasoned visual designer, instructor, and marching clinician based in Long Island, NY. With a career spanning over two decades, she has been a driving force behind numerous award-winning high school programs and drum corps in the Northeast.
Since 2005, Noreen has brought her expertise in show design, drill writing, and visual coordination to high schools across Long Island, including notable programs such as Hicksville (2005–2010, 2025), Sachem (2013–2024), Huntington (2025), Farmingdale (2016–present), Clarke (2023–present), and East Meadow (2025). Her work at Sachem helped lead the program to multiple New York State Championship titles in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
Beyond the scholastic scene, Noreen has an extensive drum corps background. She marched mellophone with Jersey Surf in 2004, 2005, and 2007, and later with Fusion Core in 2013. Her instructional career includes serving as a visual instructor with the Sunrisers in 2018 and stepping into the role of Visual Caption Head in 2021. She joined Fusion's staff in 2022 and was named their Visual Caption Head in 2023.
Dedicated to the growth of the marching arts, Noreen continues to mentor young performers and lead marching clinics year-round throughout Long Island. Her passion for excellence and education makes her a valuable addition to the Caballeros visual team.

Sophia is a music educator based out of North Jersey. She started her marching career at Pequannock Township High School. She is currently in her last semester at William Paterson University getting a degree in Music Education with an instrumental focus in Flute.
After high school, she went on to march Trumpet with the Hawthorne Caballeros (2021) and then joined the front ensemble and played Synthesizer for the next three years becoming Section Leader for the last.
Sophia has experienced writing and teaching drill and visual for various indoor programs, primarily New Milford CT HS. She also teaches front ensemble in the Fall with Madison HS and Northern Valley Old Tappan HS. She has experience in marching brass, marching color guard, playing with a front ensemble, and then teaches all of those as well.
This will be Sophia’s second year on staff with the Hawthorne Caballeros and she is excited to learn from the people around her and to grow as an educator in the Marching Arts along side her colleagues.

Jay is thrilled to be returning to the Hawthorne Caballeros for the 2024 season. Jay has been on the Caballeros front ensemble staff since the 2021 season. As a performer, Jay was a member of the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps (2013), United Percussion (2014-2018), and Carolina Crown (2016-2019). Throughout his time in the activity, Jay has had the pleasure of learning from many influential educators including Steve Ballard, Ian Hale, Jim Ancona, Thom Hannum, Iain Moyer, Annie Chernow, Alex Kluttz, Marcus Neudigate, and Dave Osworth.
Jay has worked with various high school programs in the greater New Jersey area and is currently the Front Ensemble Manager at United Percussion World and a Front Ensemble Technician at the Boston Crusaders, the University of Delaware, and the Hawthorne Caballeros. Jay is also a proud member of the Vic Firth Education Team.

Lornaa Morales is a Cabs Front Ensemble Alum, a North Jersey based music educator, and Board Certified Music Therapist. In her marching career, she performed with the Hawthorne Caballeros from 2017 through 2019, and since then, went on to teach with the organization. Lornaa also performed with United Percussion for their 2019, 2020, and 2022 seasons, and was the UP2 Front Ensemble Captionhead for their 2023 season. She is passionate about making positive and meaningful connections with her students through music and education, and has taught various front Ensembles across North Jersey.
Lornaa earned her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Montclair State University, and studied both Jazz Studies and Classical Percussion.
Currently, Lornaa is working as an Arts Administrator at JAZZ HOUSE KiDS , classroom Music Therapist in Newark Public Schools, and teaching private instrumental lessons for all ages.

This will be Valeri’s 27th year with the Hawthorne Caballeros. She was named Caballero percussionist of the year in 2004 and won two DCA championships in 2003 and 2021. Valeri had marched 3 seasons with the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps from West Chester, PA in 88, 89, and 90 and the Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps from CA, in 91.
Valeri grew up outside of the Philly-area, Media, PA. She completed her undergraduate degree in Music Education from West Chester University of West Chester, PA. She completed her master’s in music education at The University of North Texas, Denton, TX. She has had the opportunity to have studied and perform under many successful professional musicians such as Marimba-Leigh Howard Stevens, Dr. Robert Schietroma, Keiko Abe, Michael Van Sice, Michael Burritt, William Moershe, Ney Rosauro & Gordon Stout. Xylophone-George Hamilton Green, Philip Kraus & Bob Becker. Vibraphone-Emil Richards, Jim Coffman, Ed Smith, Arthur Lipner & Marc Max Jacoby. Timpani-Ron Fink, Cloyd Duff & Professor Joseph Goebel. Valeri has taught music throughout NJ since 1998; marching bands, indoor drum lines, concert bands, jazz bands, pit orchestras, instrumental lessons, choirs, general music, Jazz House for Kids and the Little Kids Rock program. She is presently a full-time instrumental music teacher and band director at the Elizabeth Public School District in Elizabeth, NJ since 2009, working at Joesph Battin School No. 4.

Laura Sachaczenski is a front ensemble instructor and K-1 general music teacher who currently lives in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
She has a degree in Music Education on clarinet from West Chester University, where she was active in the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, marching band, and various chamber ensembles. She has performed in national conferences, various exhibitions, including BOA Grand National Championships, and concerts abroad in China and Germany.
She began her journey with front ensembles at the age of 12, performing with her school's indoor percussion and marching band programs. During her time at West Chester University, she performed with open and world class marching ensembles including Imperial Dynasty '18, Reading Buccaneers '19, United Percussion '20-'22, and Boston Crusaders in '21.
She has worked as a front ensemble instructor with programs in Pennsylvania including Methacton Indoor Percussion, West Chester East Marching Band, Hatboro Horsham Marching Band, and Springford Indoor Percussion. She is currently teaching the front ensemble for the West Chester University Marching Band, United Percussion 2, and the Phoenixville Area School District’s marching programs.
She is very excited to hop on board with the Hawthorne Caballero’s front ensemble staff and make it a great season!

David is very excited for his second year teaching the Hawthorne Caballeros Color Guard! David began his marching career at Mineola High School in 2015 until he graduated in 2018. After High School, David embarked in DCI and marched for two summers at the Cadets: 2018 and 2019. David took a summer off due to Covid then rekindled his passion for the marching arts at the Blue Devils. He completed another two summers of DCI with the Blue Devils in 2021 and 2022. Apart from DCI, WGI has also been a huge part of David's marching career. David has been a member of AMP Winterguard since 2019. In 2024 David became a captian and is part AMP's leadership team! David has also instructed various Marching Bands and Winterguards in the PA/NJ/NY area since 2019.
David is thrilled to have another amazing and memorable season with the Hawthorne Caballeros!

Julian is from Union City, NJ and is a recent graduate of Rutgers University - New Brunswick. He has spun with Alter Ego IW 2020-2022, The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps 2021-2023, and AMP Winter Guard 2023-2025. He is also a technician at Mahwah High School in Mahwah, NJ. This will be Julian's first year with the Hawthorne Caballeros and he is super excited to join the family!
