Bobbey Biddle, Color Guard Caption Head, Michelle Adcock, Visual Ensemble Coordinator, and the Hawthorne Caballeros are proud to introduce the 2017 Color Guard Staff!
Louis Hellinger
Louis Hellinger is a NJ resident and has over 20 years of performance, design, and instruction experience for color guard, drum corps, and band. He began his passion for this activity, quite humbly, in the Stardust Winter Guard, from Bayonne, NJ, a local Independent A Guard and the Raiders Drum Corps. Later, he was a member of the highly-regarded Emerald Marquis Color Guard from Wakefield, MA. Louis also performed with the Sunrisers (NY) and Westshoremen (PA) drum corps throughout his marching career.
After marching, Louis has enjoyed sharing his talents with many groups in various design and technical capacities. Most notably, Louis was the creative director and designer for West Orange HS for 12 years, along with, achieving 2 medals at WGI World Championships and multiple finals placement. Most recently, he has worked with: The Black Watch (NJ), Sacred Heart University (CT), AMP (NJ) and Cypress Independent (TX).
In addition to all of his competitive teaching, Louis is proud to be a part of the the FLAGGOTS Color Guard (NY/NJ/PA/CT), where he has been the Creative Director since 2005. The FLAGGOTS organization is known across the country to be the premiere pride parade color guard.
When he is not doing color guard, Louis has a busy and exciting career working as the E-Commerce Creative Director for a classic american sportswear brand in NYC. He also enjoys traveling, the beach (jersey shore of course), and finding any excuse to bake something sweet.
Cynthia Bernard
Cynthia Bernard has been involved in the activity her whole life, performing and teaching with teams, such as, Les Étoiles d’Ors, 3e Légende, Sonnor, Les Éclipses, Emanon World, The Syracuse Brigadiers, The Grenadieres, Hawthorne Caballeros, and Les Stentors. In addition to her involvement and passion for color guard and drum corps, she has worked in creation and production on several major events and grand scale shows with diverse companies, counting the famous Cirque du Soleil. Her work with many drum corps and color guard teams has been diverse over the years and is currently the choreographer and Caption Head of Les Éclipses de Longueil Open. Cynthia is thrilled to return to the Hawthorne Caballeros color guard staff as a dance choreographer and technician for the 5th year.
Corinne Kleintz
Corinne Kleintz is a well-respected color guard technician, having taught numerous groups in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area over the past 20 years. Corinne started her marching career in Hammonton, NJ, was captain of the Black Watch color guard, and was also a member of the Westshoremen Drum Corps. Corinne has been an instructor with WGI finalist, Amp Winter Guard, from Camden, NJ, for the past 4 years and is currently the color guard caption head at Hammonton High School in Hammonton, NJ. She is pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration from Drexel University, working full time in the medical billing field and is the mother of four children who have all been highly involved in the marching arts.
Amber Franko
As both a veteran performer and educator, Amber is excited to contribute her expertise to the esteemed staff of the Hawthorne Caballeros. Amber started marching color guard in junior high and high school, with the Wilson School District in West Lawn, PA, in the early 90’s. She then went on to march with The Classics Organization, based out of the Lehigh Valley, in their Independent A, Independent Open and then, Independent Senior Guard. Amber has also marched with the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2003-2005 and then served on their support staff in 2006 and 2007.
Amber’s teaching career began in 2000 with a 4-year run at Cocalico High School. Since then, Amber has taught various groups, including Spring-Ford High School for almost 10 years, Governor Mifflin High School, and Brouhaha Independent A. In addition, she has taught for nearly a decade alongside Bobbey Biddle at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Her contributions to the field and floor as an integral staff member at Plymouth Whitemarsh have not gone unnoticed and she is honored to bring her talents to the international stage this summer.
Amber holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kutztown University in Elementary Education and Early Childhood and has worked for 13 years in the child care industry. Amber resides in Warrington, PA with her husband and two young children. She is currently a stay-at-home mom and an active volunteer in her son’s school.
Kevin Couture
Kevin started his performing arts career as a musician. He has performed with many organizations such as The Spartans , The Cadets, The Hawthorne Caballeros, Les Eclipses, Salem Blue, and Blessed Sacrament. Has also been an active member for a local dance company out of Boston for two years. This will be his second season teaching The Hawthorne Caballeros.
